That was my intention as well.  Things don't necessarily have to be
major kernel rewrites or new subsystems.  There's a lot of areas in the
kernel (and userland) where subtle bugs and/or pessimisation are hidden.
This sort of trying and testing, and documenting it a bit along with
graphs, shows just how easy you can solve these things.
