Re: occasional hang in booting dflybsd (code from 6th Feb 2004) on notebook
"Toma¾ Bor¹tnar" <tomaz.borstnar@xxxxxxxx>:This is old FreeBSD problem actually. Sometimes it hangs RIGHT after
printing out version of the kernel. It happens much more often with
notebook being on battery and A LOT more often if I am impatient and
manually try to speed up booting by not waiting for any timeouts before
actual booting of kernel.

ppi0: <Parallel I/O> on ppbus0
installed MI handler for int 7
and it stops there. Guess I need to recompile kernel with DDB. what next?
This looks very much like the problem I'm experiencing with very different
hardware. Can you tell where it hangs when you boot in verbose mode (if it
hangs at all)?
Yes, it does not work for me either for the early hang problem.
Recompiled the kernel with DDB so hopefully I will manager to jump into
DDB for this later bug (hang).
You can try to get in DDB by pressing ctrl-alt-esc. Didn't work for me btw.
