I'm still fiddling around with this, but to get an idea where to start
a debug session: does anybody know exactly WHEN the logo is expected
to show up? I believe it should become visible as soon as both modules
get preloaded, but maybe I'm wrong with that.

I found some splash screen stuff in the vidcontrol sources, but I
think this is not the first place to visit.
