:Testing results:
:dell Insp. 3500
:
:no pc cards, GENERIC kernel, 1.0A release
:
:I. acpi on
: A. no disable flags
: 1. wall power
: a. boot
: -- mostly stops, sometimes boots. an instance of running rc, then
:stopping.
: b. boot -s
: -- consistently makes it to /bin/sh prompt
: 2. battery power
: a. boot
: -- mostly stops, sometimes boots
: b. boot -s
: -- consistently gets to /bin/sh
:
: B. 'set debug.acpi.disabled="cmbat"
: a. boot
: -- boots consistently
:
: C. 'set debug.acpi.disabled="thermal"
: a. boot
: -- stops
:
: D. 'set debug.acpi.disabled="pci"
: a. boot
: -- starts rc, then hangs dead
:
:I would say it is in 'cmbat' or something that does not get done when
:it is disabled.
:It also seems timing related (may interrupt) because of the
:inconsistency of the hangs.
:
:Hope this helps.

:Dan

Ok, I just fixed an issue with cmbat and acad related to early acpi
interrupts occuring during system boot. But to test it you need to
compile up the latest kernel or download a recent snapshot ISO.
