Lenovo X301 hangs with AHCI Driver CMD TIMEOUT STS=d0<BSY>

Hi,

I have a Lenovo X301 2776 LEG.

Trying to use the machine with the AHCI results in a hang for a while
then it can't mount the root FS as it can't access the disk.
The following message is displayed:
