    Another note on the GCC cleanups.  Because we are moving to a 
    mandatory TLS model, and because GCC-2.95.x does not support TLS,
    GCC-2.95.x is being removed from the tree (not even available via
    CCVER).  I don't expect the same thing to happen to GCC-3... it will
    remain in the tree for a good long time even once GCC-4 becomes stable.
    The removal of 2.95.x is basically because it is simply too old to
    support the now-mandatory TLS model.
