My fifth email about this. :)

I see that NetBSD (which has very different mouse code) and FreeBSD have 
"synaptics" support. I tracked down my hardware and found it has a 
different vendor model name than what is really on the box. And then found 
that it has a Synaptics touchpad.

I started patching dev/misc/psm/psm.c and i386/include/mouse.h based on 
ideas from FreeBSD, but they also have many unrelated changes ... over 
time the psm.c has really diverged.

I ran out of time for this now. Now I need to find another system for my X 
on DragonFly testing ...
