What would it take to implement auto-mounting, at least of removables, in dfbsd?

E.g., the approach which suse-10.0 takes is very handy in that
respect. You just insert your media and up it goes, without any
further intervention on users's side. And one can just eject the CD at
will without fuss.

I've seen the freebsd automount patch, but it doesn't look convincing
-- and it crashed freebsd on me frequently.

AFAIU, there would be following mechanisms needed:

- generator of event telling about change in removables' status
- enabler of the listeners to such events
- implementation users flag in fstab
- way to bypass the locking of removables with auto-unmounting if needed
