Support of 8 bit characters: aka problem with key-mapping

hi,

as already ask earlier, I still have the problem with mapping 8 bit characters to the keyboard. All 7 bit characters can be mapped perfectly while none of the 8 bit characters (e.g. german Umlauts) work.

Basis is DF stable end of November/begin of December

Has anyohne successfully mapped 8 bit characters is this still a known problem?
