:I was able to boot from the cd drive in my Dell X300 MediaBase, but after
:the initial boot, it wasn't able to mount root from the cd, probably
:because it's a usb cd drive. Any suggestions for the appropriate argument
:to mountroot> ? Thanks.

The USB CD is probably attaching as umass storage through the SCSI
    driver. Try da0, da1, da8, or da9.

This is assuming that it is attaching at all. You should be able to
see what it is attaching as in the console output before it gives up
the ghost. You can use scroll lock and cursor up to scroll the console
    output backwards.
