. .. at least on modern machines. And because I'm having a problems with my 
laptop temperature while doing heavy compiling work, I started to look at 
it from start.

Cx states are not detected at all on Core 2 CPU's at least in SMP case. I 
think that I know the reason, but before I start hacking on it ...

"ACPI idle hook not yet supported for SMP." What's the reason? what needs 
to be done? etc
