6.2 Obtaining and Configuring XFree86

Installation of the port x11/xfree86-4 will automatically install the various packages needed to have a graphical user interface on your DragonFly computer.

The command XFree86 -configure will make XFree86 probe your hardware and write out a potential configuration file, called XF86Config, in your current directory. Place this file in /etc/X11/ and it will be used automatically when XFree86 starts up.

This file may require further editing for a successful launch of XFree86; check the XF86Config man pages and website for details.
