    I have no idea, it doesn't happen to me.. that is, I can build the
    XFree86-4-Server without error, but I've already got X installed
    so it sounds like a dependancy issue.

    Try building the whole enchillada... build the x11/XFree86-4 port.

    I can't stress enough that when things fail you need to include a
    cut and paste of enough of the output so we can see the failure for
    ourselves.  Valuable data is lost when you paraphase.
