At present Linux is better than any BSD variant on multiprocs and even more on multiprocs with large number of processors. It is perhaps even better than Solaris. This is the unfortunate reality. Let us hope that both FreeBSD and Dragonflybsd will succeed in bridging the gap.

It is a good laugh to hear about foresight for the subject you are alluding to, when it was hardly possible to do worse.
