    Nah.  You have to be more careful with the debugging options in FreeBSD
    kernels.  FreeBSD release kernels ship with the most invasive options
    turned off and development kernels ship with them on.

    The debugging options in DragonFly kernels are far less invasive and
    we leave them turned on in both development and release kernels,
    because getting good, useful crash dumps is more important to us then
    the slight (and usually unnoticeable) reduction in performance.
